About Tess:
I am a part-time artist (and full-time criminal lawyer) based in Naarm/Melbourne. My oil paintings come to life in the painting corner of my Abbotsford sharehouse, often with my dog Lilly snoring nearby.
After school, I enrolled in Fine Arts at university before making a last-minute switch to Law and Languages (French and Italian). Other than studying art appreciation during an exchange at La Sorbonne Université in Paris and completing a short course in painting at RMIT University, I have minimal formal art training. Because of this, my painting style is continuously evolving as I learn as an artist. I love to play instinctively with colour and form and am often inspired by native plants and landscapes.
