Part Time what, who?
This is a place for an evolving collection of part time artists to sell their art.
Head on over to our About page for a more detailed description.
Why The Long... Name?
Good question. Fair point.
The long and short of it is, we just like it. We feel it encapsulates what we do, and who we are. Right there from the beginning. Nice people who make art, not often enough.
Where in the world are you?
We’re based in Naarm (Melbourne, Australia), and Tãmaki Makarau, Aotearoa (Auckland, New Zealand).
But we’re also on the internet. So the world’s our… gallery!
Artists
Do the Artists make money?
Yes! That’s our mission, to get part time artists creating more art, seeing more value in their art, and helping others to see it too.
So artists making money is a big part of this. Because everyone needs to eat, and the starving artist idea isn’t actually as cool and romantic as we’re led to believe.
Do you only accept artists from Aotearoa (New Zealand) & Australia?
For now yes. Our focus is on local Antipodean artists and buyers.
But the world has a whole lot of rules and boarders that aren’t always necessary. So if you’re in a grey area and would like to be considered, please get in touch and we’ll have a chat.
I’m a part time artist, can we be friends?
We’re always on the lookout for more artists, and friends!
Check out our list page for more info, then send us a bit about yourself, and examples of your art.
We’ll take a look and be in touch.
What exactly qualifies as a ‘Part Time’ Artist?
A part time artist is anyone who makes art, and can’t fully support themselves financially through their artistic practice alone.
Can I commission an Artist to make something specific?
Hopefully yes! But it’s really up to the artist.
Drop a line to friend@ptaftf.com and we’ll see what we can arrange.
I really like an Artist’s work, but they’re all sold out. When will more be available?
It’s sometimes tricky to find time to make art with life and ‘real’ work getting in the way. But a little encouragement is always helpful. Let us know who you’re into and we’ll pass it on to get them motivated.
You can also sign up to our mailing list where we announce new arrivals (at the bottom of the page).
Framing
Do you offer framing as well?
Yes! Most pieces can be framed in these three options:
White
Black
Natural
But if you’re wanting something a little more bespoke, please let us know here, and I’m sure we’ll be able to help.
Returns
I’ve changed my mind, can I return the art?
We ask that you consider each purchase carefully as we don’t accept returns.
But there’s a little more to it than that, so please head on over and read our full return & exchange policy here.
Shipping
Do you ship internationally?
Sure do!
We pass on all shipping costs, so we’ll send it to the moon if you like.
How do you package artwork?
Very carefully.
Unframed prints are rolled and sent in rigid postal tubes.
Where necessary for protection, art will be sent flat packed at an additional charge.
Framed art will have additional protection for corners and glass.
How long do deliveries take?
It all depends on where it’s going, and where it’s coming from (some work is shipped directly from the artist).
But everything is shipped with track and trace. So we’ll let you know when it’s dispatched, and you can follow it from there.
But if it seems too long, please let us know at info@ptaftf.com and we’ll do everything we can to help.
If you need something extra fast, please give us a call on +61 433 854 617, and we’ll do our best to help you out.
What if my art arrives damaged?
We’ll definitely cry — and then do everything we can to diagnose and remedy the problem.
