Lucy Fekete
About Lucy:
Lucy is a highly imaginative and diverse freelance Illustrator with a BA in Creative Advertising from RMIT (2001) and PG Dip in Arts Management from Melbourne University (2006).
During the day she undertakes a variety of different illustration projects which challenge and drive her art practise. For more than a decade her industry experience includes concept/visualisation artist for advertising firms, a children's book illustrator and cover artist for publishing companies, plus album cover artwork design, a boutique beer label, custom caricature with a twist and much more!
When she's not working on client projects, Lucy indulges in the quirky world of her vivid imagination, doing her best to bring it to life on canvas. Her style is influenced by the comic books she read in her youth such as Mad Magazine and Asterix, as well as the pin-up girls of Gil Elvgren. Her subject focus tends to be very character driven, quite quirky, exaggerated, often (but not always) humorous and tongue in cheek.
In 2021 she was a finalist in the Southern Buoy Studio Portrait Prize, and previously a finalist in the Portia Geach Prize (2015).
