Alyce Lola Stampa
About Alyce:
I fell in love with photography at the end of an era where film and darkrooms were standard. This led me enthusiastically to Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design where I studied fine arts, majoring in photography and film. But times were quickly changing, and photography morphed into computer work which I was less enthusiastic about. But the training there in design, drawing, painting, and printmaking, was extremely valuable and this is where most of my practice sits today.
Since then I’ve been travelling and working behind-the-scenes in performing arts, festivals, and events. This kept me busy for years until COVID hit and I was forced like many others to stop and reevaluate my life and career.
This has given me the time and motivation to create more art, and start the business I’ve been dreaming about for years – Part Time Artist Full Time Friend (!).
In between managing this business, I’m enjoying making simple and fun illustrations, turned linocut prints. I love the slightly rough, experimental tone that makes each print unique.
